Taking a spin
Tarantino is primarily known for his violent films such as ‘Django Unchained’, ‘Pulp Fiction’ and ‘Inglorious Basters.’ His most recent project the Western ‘The Hateful Eight’ was basically an Agatha Christie mystery set in the 1870s with more blood-vomiting.
Now, it looks like the director is interested in tackling something set in the more recent past the 1969 Manson murders. Manson and his followers killed nine people, most notably on the night of August 8 when the organization attacked the inhabitants of a house in Los Angeles.
Roman Polanski’s wife, actress Sharon Tate, was inside the house, eight months pregnant, and was one of the five victims killed that night.
Manson and members of his cult were sentenced to life imprisonment in 1971. For these and several other murders committed during their 1969 crime spree which they carried on in order to unleash a racial war referred as “Helter Skelter”.
This is Tarantino’s ninth film and also the first time creating a film based on real-life events.
