She’s Hilarious, But I Can’t Stop Thinking About How Much Time That Outfit Must Take
Melissa McCarthy returned to SNL on Saturday, to play another role as the White House press secretary, Sean Spicer. The actress delivered once again the amazing impersonation but this time responding to Sean Spicer’s comments about her last performance
McCarthy surprised people with her return and then made the cold opening of the show. The episode was full of Trump criticism. Alec Baldwin hosted the show and played the President and Ed Sheeran brought his latest beats.
McCarthy’s Sean Spicer return.
On Saturday night, the audience was surprised when Melissa McCarthy showed up to deliver her second impersonation of the White House press secretary, Sean Spicer giving reporters his “Spicy” treatment. The hilarious comeback has over 3 million views already.
Hey guys, its Melissa again!
Last week Melissa McCarthy made an acclaimed impersonation of Sean Spicer. This week the show didn’t make fans wait for her return and showed the actress in the cold open once again. Alec Baldwin was also back with his Trump impersonation for the 17th time in a row.
McCarthy addressed Spicer’s comments about her last performance. Spicer said McCarthy should “slow down on the gum chewing; way too many pieces in there.”
McCarthy was more than glad to reply by putting this little gum in her mouth
Discussing current issues
McCarthy’s second appearance addressed Trump’s travel ban and some highlights in Trump administration’s week. Such as the release of the list of terrorist attacks and then it was time for Ivanka to be roasted.
The actress made reference to Nordstrom decision of dropping Ivanka’s line due to weak sales, and called it “white terrorism.” This was a direct reference to Presidential adviser Kellyanne Conway suggestion to Americans where he asked people too “buy Ivanka’s stuff” during a TV interview.
Backup coming up.
Kate McKinnon joined this week’s sketch as a very toothy newly confirmed Attorney General Jeff Sessions. McKinnon’s Sessions talked about crime and confirmed the administration’s view of it when she said “There are two kinds of crime — regular and black,” McKinnon said.
McCarthy and McKinnon’s impersonations made sure to hurt Spicer and Trump right where it hurts. At one point McCarthy showed her leg wearing an Ivanka brand shoe, giving the administration a friendly reminder of their gender.
