Lorde just made our Friday plans! The singer took us by surprise this week and teased us about a new track dropping on Friday.
Singer Lorde is getting ready to deliver some more cool sounds. The soon to be released track will be the fifth of her forthcoming album titled ‘Melodrama.’
A brand new song for the ‘Melodrama’ album
Lorde took Twitter on early Wednesday and tweeted two images that soon made sense. The first image has what we assume are the lyrics to the new song. It reads, “Every night, I live & die — feel the party to my bones.” In any case, it goes with Lorde’s melodrama album. The second image read the release date of the song. June 2, 6 am NZ.
The New Zealand-born singer already unveiled the tracklist of Melodrama. Which included Green Light, Sober, Homemade Dynamite, The Louvre, Liability, Hard Feelings/Loveless, Sober II (Melodrama), Writer in the Dark, Supercut, Liability (Reprise) and Perfect Places.
I guess we’re about to find out which is the title for the third track.
Lorde has made a huge comeback
After a three-year musical hiatus in New Zealand, Lorde came back for good. First, she unveiled ‘Green Light’ during an interview with Beats 1’s Kiwi frontman Zane Lowe, and then revisited his studio to show the world ‘Liability.’ Then during her Coachella performance, Lorde performed the never-before-heard track, Homemade Dynamite. Which made the third track for the anticipated Melodrama.
Since she loves her fans so much she decided to give just a little bit more. Only days before the mega performance, she held a quiet, last minute show where she revealed another track from her forthcoming album, Sober. However, neither ‘Sober’ or ‘Homemade Dynamite’ have been officially released online.
During the promotion of Melodrama, Lorde has made clear the new songs sound like nothing else she’s ever done. This keeps getting better. The lead single, Green Light, has made Saturday Night Live and Billboard Music Awards performances and we just can’t stop listening to it.The 20-year-old has been praised for her brand new sound. During an interview, she said she inspired in late David Bowie.
Melodrama will be released on June 16. The album is her comeback and second release following her debut Pure Heroine album in 2013.
