The Hitman’s Bodyguard Is Now Available On Screens

‘The Hitman’s Bodyguard’ kicked off its weekend premiere on Friday with mixed reviews. Ryan Reynolds and Samuel Jackson’s action comedy is the latest addition to action movies this summer.

The best pair you can think for an action movie

Nick Fury and Deadpool, join up in the latest action comedy of the summer, leaving a trail of death across Europe. The story follows a special protection agent, Ryan Reynolds, who’s tasked with guarding the life of his mortal enemy. One of the world’s most notorious hitmen, Samuel Jackson.

The pair travels from the United Kingdom to the International Court of Justice, in the Hague. The journey soon becomes quite an adventure full of high-speed car chases and boat escapes as deadly assassins are pursuing them. Eventually, they are forced to work together in order to defeat a ruthless, powerful and bloodthirsty Eastern European dictator, played by Gary Oldman.

The Hitman’s Bodyguard‘ was directed by Patrick Hughes from ‘The Expendables 3,’ and the script was penned by Tim O’Connor.

It was produced by Mark Gill, John Thompson, Matt O’Toole and Les Weldon, and distributed by Lionsgate. The movie also stars Salma Hayek and Élodie Yung as the love interests of Jackson and Reynolds, respectively, who come at play to help their old flames.

How the public sees the film

‘The Hitman’s Bodyguard’ is mostly referred as the comfort food of action comedies.

Regardless, the movie’s reviews report that the film gets stuck in plenty of action movie clichés and some think it doesn’t even make an effort to be good.

For starters, we have a duo that doesn’t stand each other, one younger and one older, coming together to fight a common nemesis. As expected, they eventually become fond of each other and come to be a power duo.

Other critics point out to that the action comedy has no fun nor jokes. In fact, some reviews of the movie say the only joke is on its title and that is not short when it comes to common places However, it’s not all bad. Positive reviews praise Ryan Reynolds and Samuel Jackson chemistry, which makes the movie ridiculously delightful.

Also, the action sequences reportedly make quite a good work distracting the viewer from the recycle lot. And, more importantly, is not lost, not when Reynolds and Jackson are present and accounted for, constantly cracking wise.

They’re the only reason that ‘The Hitman’s Bodyguard’ doesn’t completely sink into the generic quicksand from whence it came.
