Game of Thrones Will Stop Production For Kit Harington’s Wedding

Harrington And Leslie Made Their Wedding Announcement Last September

Kit Harrington hinted that ‘Game of Thrones’ production might delay for his wedding to Rose Leslie. The actor made the revelation during an interview on Saturday.

The eight and final season of ‘Game of Thrones’ production kicked off on Sunday. Reports say one of the fan-favorite characters is back.

Paused for the big day

Traditionally, ‘Game of Thrones‘ weddings are not joyful occasions. In fact, at least one member of the wedding party is likely to meet a sad bloody end during the nuptials.

This is why is so understandable that Kit Harington and Rose Leslie, two actors who played star-crossed lovers on the popular show, have asked that the show pauses production for their big day.

The actor made the revelation during an appearance on the ‘Jonathan Ross Show’ on Saturday night.

“I rang [the producer] up and I said, ‘I’m getting married and it’s your fault actually.’ I think for the final season he’s so stressed that he’s reached that peaceful level,” Harrington explained.

“I was like, “You need to factor in a Game of Thrones wedding by the way.” They [the cast] have all got to be there, so the whole thing has got to shut down,” he added.

Harrington and Leslie made their wedding announcement last September in the pages of a British broadsheet. They are far too classy to get involved with costumes for the big day.

“There is absolutely no chance of me convincing [Rose] of that,” Harington said.

The pair met on the show’s set when Leslie joined as Ygritte, a Wildling, in the second season. Jon Snow falls in love with after she captures him.

The cruelest prank

During Harrington’s appearance on the ‘Jonathan Ross Show,’ the actor shared footage of himself pranking his fiancée and former co-star Rose Leslie the morning of April Fools’ Day. It’s absolutely brutal.

The video shows Leslie opening a refrigerator door to find what appears to be a severed head inside.

Once Leslie comprehends what she’s seeing, she screams in horror. Finally, she collapses on the kitchen floor, gasping for air.

“Now that you’ve seen that,” Harington began.

Harrington then revealed the frightening feature in the fridge. It definitely looks like he may have asked for a little help from HBO‘s special effects department, managing to sneak a fake severed head inside.

“My family does April Fools’. Her family doesn’t do April Fools’,” Harington said, summarizing Leslie’s less-than-thrilled reaction to the stunt.

“After that, she was in tears and I was going, ‘April Fools’,’” he said.

“It didn’t go down well.”

t looks like it’s all water under the bridge as the pair are now engaged after dating since 2012.

“She pretty much told me that if I did it ever again then that would be it. I think that’s marriage included,” Harington said of his prank.

Kicking off the production

‘Game of Thrones‘ production started on Sunday. the news was broken by actor Liam Cunningham, who plays Davos Seaworth.

The actor made the announcement during an interview on AM to DM on Friday.

Cunningham kindly explained, Sunday and Monday will mark the official table reads for the final six episodes of ‘Game of Thrones’. For the week after that, the cast will rehearse, and then it’s straight to filming.

“My ass belongs to HBO for as long as it takes to get this done,” Cunningham added.

And as the show’s moves into its final season, the HBO juggernaut’s plot points are all and closely guarded secrets.

In the wake of the massive hack the company faced earlier this year, the network decided to take even more secrecy precautions are being taken than ever before.

The actor revealed that while he already has the final six episodes, he can’t open them, “because of all the security, and I can’t walk ‘em out.”

But even when the company is taking those security precautions there are still ways to find out information.

In fact, a fan spotted a bunch of cast members on location in Belfast, including Hivju, whom she photographed standing alongside Dolorous Edd actor Ben Crompton.

Which means that at least for episode one Tormund and Beric have minutes on the first episode. Whether it’s to show their terrible fate since they both seemingly perished on the crumbling of the Wall, or something rather happier.

Also, fans have already spotted most of the show’s principal cast as well. Including Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.

The ‘Game of Thrones’ train is running once more, and nothing can stop it. Except Harington’s wedding to Rose Leslie, but that’s just a day off.
