Game Of Thrones’ Last Season Might Be Delayed Another Year

If This Actually Happens I Might As Well Give Up The Show..

Game Of Thrones fans might get pretty upset over this. HBO president, Casey Bloys, said is possible that the final season of the show will be aired in 2019. In a chat with Entertainment Weekly, Bloys set the record straight on the final season, plus, rumors of those prequels.

Is it really being delayed until 2019?

Things have been a bit tough for Game of Thrones fans, first the network delayed the premiere of the seven season. Now, HBO president Casey Bloys talks about a possibly delaying the show’s final season to 2019.

Bloys dropped the news in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly. “Yeah. They have to write the episodes and figure out the production schedule,” Bloys said of Benioff and Weiss. “We’ll have a better sense of that once they get further into the writing.”

HBO president explained that the new time span follows the hard work and dedication that involves making the show. Game of Thrones is characterized by its incredible cinematic. Now that we’re on the final track of the story there are a bunch of battles. The team is taking the time to do it perfectly, even when that means making diehard fans wait a bit longer.

“We’ve done a lot of great shows, but this one combines the complex characters we love with a huge cinematic scope. I think this is the first show to prove that can be done.”

The seventh season of George R.R. Martin’s series had been scheduled to return on July 16 and will feature just seven episodes.

What about the prequels?

Bloys also addressed the timeline for launching a brand new GOT spin-off. HBO had previously confirmed the making of four Game of Thrones spin-offs that were supposedly in development.

The network has kept the details of the spin-off projects, well under wraps but Bloys revealed they will “explore different time periods of George R.R. Martin’s vast and rich universe.” Rumor has it the spin-off would explore the stories of the ancestral family’s. A kind of prequel to Game of Thrones. However, Bloys warned there’s no actual guarantee that they’ll actually make it to the screens.

Bloys stressed the fact that the number one priority for HBO is making the last season, then the network is planning to handle the spin-offs.

“You’re not going to see a situation where the next show in the Thrones universe launches off the back of this one,” he warned. However, he didn’t diss the possibility for the spin.off to eventually happen, only not right now. “This is a really embryonic process. I haven’t even seen outlines.”

Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
