The Glastonbury Festival is one of the best and biggest in the whole world. As the epic summer celebration counts with hundreds of acts and stages for music, and art, loves to enjoy. Now for this year, the Glade area is back. Announcing as well their full lineup, with many unexpected and high-profile electronic artists invited.
The Glade area will consist of the Main Stage, The Spaceport, The Glade Lounge, Lovebullets and The Spike. Dedicating a whole area to electronic and alternative club music. Following up the spirit of the Glastonbury that is to blend musical boundaries and celebrating it, in the midsummer event that is the festival.
Stages and names
British DJs John Digweed and Sasha will headline the main, Glade stage, on Saturday night. Also, it will count with Layo & Bushwacka!, Paranoid London, Gorgon City, Way Out West and rave icon A Guy Called Gerald. Besides that, to add a bit more of “alternative vibe” to it there will be the psychedelic band System 7, the dub act Jah Wobble & The Invaders Of The Heart and ska legends The Beat. Along all of them the very particular and awesome Canadians A Tribe Called Red, who really deserve a watch.
If that wasn’t enough on Thursday night, The Orb will be showing up on the Glade Stage for a playing some songs of their debut album “Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld”. With many of their favorite guests like Youth, Gaudi and Steve Hillage. Wrapping it all up with the sonic experience of the Funktion One Experimental Soundfield. Besides Goldie, drum ‘n’ bass legend, who will be releasing tracks from his upcoming album “The Journey Man” and many others of previous LPs on Friday.
The whole area
The Spaceport, a futuristic turbo-charged metallic Interzone, will have the likes of Darren Emerson, Altern8, Randall B2B DJ Die, and Back To Basics main man Dave Beer. There will also be a session by the Stanton Warriors label Punks. As well as a comeback of the GlastonBowie extravaganza. That will have DJs Danny Howells and Carl Loben, who will pay tribute to Thin White Duke. Also, on the Lovebullet tent, that has been recently relocated, will have Seth Troxler and Jamie Jones. Along with Spanish party-starters Elrow, Jackmaster, Kölsch, Route 94 and Waff.
Then on the Spike stage, that will be “remote” and tucked away in the trees, Bestival’s main man Rob Da Bankspinning will do a special tribute to Prince. An Old School Jungle session from North Base and special guests, DJ Ray Ray, Feral Is Kinky and much more. Finally, the Glade Lounge, the center of the Glade 4/4 beats, will have Flying Rhino Mirror System and Dave Seaman B2B with Steve Parry.
