‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Trailer: It’s On! As Destiny, And Thanos, Arrive

Marvel’s Avengers Infinity War Trailer Is Here And The Internet Is Loosing It

Marvel dropped the explosive first trailer for ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ on Wednesday. The anticipated revelation was made during ABC’s ‘Good morning America,’ showing the action-packed footage.

The trailer arrives five months after the first footage was first screened at Disney’s D23 Expo and at San Diego Comic-Con. ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ hits theaters on May 4, 2018.

The whole gang’s here!

After what seemed forever for fans highly anticipating a look at ‘Avengers: Infinity War,’ the explosive trailer landed on Wednesday and delivers a lot whole of action. The first trailer unveils a superhero-stuffed look at what Disney calls “An unprecedented cinematic journey 10 years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe.”

The powerful first footage shows the mother of superhero team-ups: the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and almost every major Marvel hero on several battle fronts. Throughout the trailer, you can see them coming together to join forces against a new threat, which is Thanos trying to collect the Infinity Stones.

“There was an idea to bring together a group of remarkable people, to see if we could become something more. So when they needed us, we could fight the battles that they never could,” the characters say in the trailer’s opening.

The movie picks up four years after the events of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.’ and shows us a couple of images changes, such as bearded Captain America and Starlord, the Black Widow showing a new hair dyed, and so on. The film was directed by Anthony and Joe Russo from a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.

As for the ensemble cast the long list includes Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Josh Brolin as Thanos, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, and Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star-Lord.

Along with, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Cobie Smulders, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Rudd, and Don Cheadle who will also appear in the film.

A turning point in the MCU

‘Avengers: Infinity War’ will be the 19th film in the MCU, and the third in the ‘Avengers’ ensemble after ‘Marvel’s The Avengers’ and ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ which grossed $1.5 billion and $1.4 billion worldwide, respectively.

The franchise has over $13 billion dollars worldwide, interweaving films and characters.

The MCU is now looking at a future that may not include some of its most popular heroes.

According to Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios’ president, the next phase of Marvel movies will be unlike anything audiences have seen before.

“There will be two distinct periods. Everything before [2019’s ‘Avengers 4’] and everything after.”

But don’t worry, there’s still lots of the MCU to discover and see since the franchise already has over a dozen project films.

“We’re 22 movies in, and we’ve got another 20 movies on the docket that are completely different from anything that’s come before–intentionally.”

Revealing a major hint

The first anticipated trailers seem to show three distinct teams of Avengers, which follows the events of last years’ ‘Captain America: Civil War.’

These three main groups of Avengers gearing up to combat Thanos’s invasion: one in Wakanda, one in New York City, and one in outer space.

In Wakanda, there’s Black Panther, Captain America, Black Widow, Bucky Barnes, the Hulk, and War Machine assembled the group.

Then in New York, Iron Man shows along with Doctor Strange, Wong, and Spider-Man.

Finally, in the outer space, Thor bumps into the Guardians of the Galaxy, and the adorable now-teenage Groot.

But worry not, these are still obviously working together as we see Hulk both in New York and in Wakanda. And also, War Machine, well, it used to be on Iron Man’s side, so…

According to some, the first trailer for the anticipated movie seems to reveal the location of the Soul Stone, which remains elusive to our favorite group of superheroes.

But while seeing these three distinct group, the trailer might reveal something major: that the Soul Stone may be waiting on Black Panther’s home turf. This idea comes as some of the major action scenes seem to take place in Wakanda.

Also, given the huge alien army attacking Wakanda, seems to be a reasonable reason that The Avengers need to defend something powerful and important, and an Infinity Stone fits that description perfectly.

Carrying on with this theory, the possibility of the Soul Stone making its debut during the events of Ryan Coogler’s ‘Black Panther’  is not as crazy as it seems and actually seems reasonably plausible.

As far as we know, ‘Black Panther’s solo film will center on the history of the mystical and mysterious African nation, and the Soul Stone could offer a clear explanation for the spirituality of the Wakandan culture, as well as a rationale for T’Challa’s abilities.
