Watch American Kids Try Christmas Foods from Around the World [VIDEO]

Who Knew Fried Chicken Was A Christmas Food?

Holidays are here and with it the awesome things that make this especial season even more unique. To get gifts is one of the most classic and sweet things about the holidays. To see the family well it depends on how crazy yours is. Many things make this eve especial for everyone. But the one thing that without a doubt makes this season one of the best of all is the food.

Not only we happily gain some extra pounds but as well we get to eat some delicious and unique dishes. This delicious food that only features on this dates is something we wait for several times during the year. Obviously, the kind of dishes and traditions vary according to the region and country. And during the holidays, a time when we all get-together, we share and enjoy on the same table this multicultural menu.

It’s a small world.

Logically for the little ones of the house this exposure is a bit more complicated. So the guy from WatchCut Video decided to record some of the kids’ reactions. And they are priceless, the naive and pure way they face the unknown and familiar ones is adorable.

New Zeland – Barbecue and Pavlova.

The video starts with a little kid jumping around asking for fried chicken. Something any of us would ask if they had to choose. Then we see our first dish entering, all the kids with their eyes closed. The first test is a New Zeland’s BBQ as it’s summer in this eve. The best thing of all is the reaction of the kids when they see the giant shrimp. Confusing it with lobster or with a spiky thing.

The Dominican Republic – Pig Roast and Rice with Peas and Coconut Milk.

We then proceed to next phase where the kids had to face a pig roast and rice with some exotic flavors. When the kids tasted the rice is not clear if they liked it or hated it. For some reason, it seems to have been too spicy for them, not clear why since there is no spice on it. Then an epic moment came when one of the kids is chews, spits and then chews again the pig. As it is asked by one of the adults, for what he answers “yum”.

Japan – Fried Chicken and Christmas Cake.

The final round was a bit more familiar for the kids and maybe disconcerting for the more grown ups. Since the dish that kids in Japan apparently eat during Christmas is well KFC and cake. Globalization at its best, we guess. We see the kids having no problems with the fried chicken and the cake. Except for one kid that denies eating a chocolate Santa that’s in the cake, and just after saying that he proceeds to eat it.

The final reactions.

We saw how the kids had a bit of trouble facing dishes from different countries. And making adorable mistakes since their young age, as confusing The Dominican Republic with the Republican Party. And obviously, the highlights of the whole thing were the reactions of the kids. As the one that has no shame and loves the cake and gets it all over his face. And proudly wishing his dad was there, as a matter of fact, it was. It was one of the adults conducting everything. Or the kid with the red sweater who’s face of happiness when he finally got his beloved fried chicken is priceless.
