Say goodbye to the preconception of kissing your good looks goodbye as you grow older. From China hottest grandpa to this mature model, Yazemeenah Rossi, these folks keep breaking the stereotypes and also showing us the healthy way to grow old.
Not only she’s breaking the age stereotype, but also she’s kicking the hypersexualized swimwear photoshoot’s arses. She collaborated with The Dreslyn and Land of Women and came up with this graceful and beautiful photoshoot.
Yazemeenah Rossi.
She was born in France in 1955 and grew up on the Island of Corsica. She’s now based in Malibu, California.
Not only beautiful but also talented.
The 61-year-old is also a visual artist and self-portrait photographer, and she’s proving that age is just a number.
Maybe she controls time!
In the spotlight.
Rossi has captured worldwide attention with these pictures. These are part of a swimsuit collection and stand out for the fact that are not the usual swimwear advertisings.
Swimwear advertisements 2.0
Rossi collaborated with the online shop The Dreslyn, and a lingerie house called Land of Women for this collection.
Breaking the stereotype.
For starters, their model is a mature woman, which we don’t usually see on these ads, and also the pictures are quite artistic and not at all sexualized.
Exactly what they wanted!
Dreslyn founder Brooke Taylor Corcia wanted to bring some focus to women in a different way. He wanted them to feel identified by the collection rather than objectified by it.
Whoa! That’s actually different!
Honest beauty back.
This way he came up with the idea of portraying in the photoshoot a simple yet raw collection, and what better way than showing a mature beautiful woman.
Beautiful irradiating woman.
Dreslyn chose Rossi for the collection because he considers she radiates health and vitality.
Let it shine trough,
Dreslyn describes the line as “all about being a person who’s well-lived and well-traveled and has intelligence and confidence, and letting that shine through.”
The secret of healthy aging.
When asked about how she takes care of herself she said “All I have ever done is eat organic food – long before it became trendy”
