Watch Radiohead’s Thom Yorke Dance And Sing Reggaeton Hit Song ‘Gasolina’

This Viral Video Will Brighten Your Day

Thom Yorke and Radiohead are rock legends, who have characterized their sound by being mellow, experimental and sometimes even way too serious. But according to YouTube, it’s not like that. As it seems the band’s frontman has a bit of Latin spice. Since a video of him singing the reggaeton hit “Gasolina” has gone viral.

Featuring an energetic Thom Yorke dancing in a very sassy way as he does both the male and female vocals of the song, impressing us with his Spanish in a hilarious way. Showing maybe a possible unknown talent of Yorke.

Not the first creep

It’s not the first time that Radiohead features on a viral parody video. Since last month a video showing Russia’s president Vladimir Putin singing the band’s iconic “Creep”. Sadly the video wasn’t real footage but it’s still fun to watch Putin singing.

Now, the tables have turned. As someone has taken a video of Radiohead on concert and played over it Daddy Yankee’s hit song “Gasolina,” creating a masterpiece of internet art. The video was posted on the YouTube channel of Informe Chile as it credited Riccardo Muffato, who might be the mastermind behind the video.

Spanish weird dance moves

The play-over video is incredible, as it really looks like if Yorke was singing the song. Due to the clip showing the overhyped Yorke, it’s not too hard to see why the mashup was made. As Thom Yorke’s hips and moves are sassy enough to pass like a professional “salsa dancer,” perfectly matching the rhythms. Many haters will say that the video was sped up to match the music. But we trust in that the Radiohead’s frontman dancing skills are genuine.

Despite that Radiohead or Yorke had nothing to do with the video, technically, it could show many fans a possibly less serious side of the band. Maybe even affecting their “serious guys” reputation, something that recently has suffered some ups and downs. Due to the fact they experienced some technical sound problems as they headlined on the Coachella Festival a few days ago. They were forced to get out off stage twice because of it.

Yankee dancing

During the Coachella episode even Yorke tried to lighten the mood and reassure they’re still “serious,” by saying: “Can you actually hear me now? I’d love to tell you a joke to lighten the mood. But this is Radiohead, so f— it!” But to make every Radiohead fan happy, and really improve their mood rumors have aroused about a possible a 20th-anniversary edition of “OK Computer”. The rumors have arisen due to posters quoting the lyrics of “Fitter Happier” in that have appeared in many cities.

We still don’t know if Daddy Yankee knows anything about the video. But how will he react? probably pretty good if his song puts Thom Yorke to dance like that? Daddy Yankee’s iconic song was released in 2004 and became a world phenomenon. As it reached the Top 40 on the U.S. Singles, Rap Songs, Latin Songs and R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts. It was the first reggaeton song to be nominated for a Latin Grammy Award for Record of the Year.
