It took place on October 25th and it has gone viral. The act have amazed tons of people around the globe. They have praised the act and it’s symbolism due to the cartoon character’s nature. But to others, especially local citizens, police and Mulder itself it’s just an act of vandalism.

He shared in a Facebook group entitled, “The Dark Side of Voronezh” an statement  “it was insulting and does not appreciate the important symbol being transformed into a “cynical” and “lazy” cartoon character.”

Since the moving of Patrick to Russia from Bikini Bottom, professional companies have estimated that the restoration of the star to its original Soviet form will cost around 100,000 rubles ($1,530). Something that would make Mr. Krabs burst in anger and cringe.

Despite the viral of the story and Patrick Star’s appearance in Voronezh is new, it’s not the first time the star has been vandalized. In October of 2015, a previous intervention was made to the communist symbol when a pirate flag was reportedly hung in the same place, and rescuers had to remove the Jolly Roger with a crane.

Patrick’s trip to Russia was a something that took many by surprise but we are sure he is less missed in Bikini Bottom.
