The Trans List is a documentary film produced by HBO and directed by Timothy Greenfield-Sanders, that consist of a series of intimate interviews with 11 people of the trans community. The film will premiere on December the 5th, a perfect time considering that past November the 20 was Trans Day of Remembrance.

The interviews are conducted by Janet Mock, who is an activist and author of the trans community. One of the interviewed is Laverne Cox. The LBGT advocate actress, shares touching situations in this HBO’s film.

Cox expresses her feelings and frustrations regarding the different issues that involve living as a trans person and goes through some painful memories.

She analyzes the violence against trans people, and the importance given to trans people lives. She also says how this is something that’s not new and is sustained by society, since it doesn’t give enough importance to this issue.

Laverne dreams of the day where violence against trans becomes a thing of the past. Such a beautiful thing to imagine, it’s our job to make it happen. Acknowledging the other with their differences is the first step to respect and to honor them.
