James Corden wanted to get out of the routine of recording Carpool Karaoke in his car. He decided to stir things up going to the subway. The segment was presented live during the delivery of the 60th Annual Grammy Awards.
Corden, who was responsible for presenting the award ceremony for the second year in a row, changed to a more mobile environment. This time his guests were no other than Sting and Shaggy.
Subway ride went wrong with James Corden
When they played the song “Every Breath You Take”, they all knew that this could be good. On the trip, a person dressed as a builder was not understanding anything. “Hi guys, take it off,” he cautions, as this new trio moves across the wagon to play Shaggy’s most famous hit “It Wasn’t Me.”
Some people who accompanied them on the trip were not so convinced of Corden’s uproar. A woman pointing to Corden and said: “Nobody wants to hear you sing”. The response of the presenter was the best thought “I think many millennials would disagree.” K.O by Corden.
Don’t make me wait in the ring
Despite this, Shaggy and Sting do not give up. They sang their recent hit “Don’t Make Me Wait,” the first single released by this new duo. You’ll be able to see more of this on their new collaborative album called 44/876. The release date is set for April 20th. We are not completely sure this duo works but mixing these two musical genres is a daring move. Ready for this new duo?
The builder who has been a stellar part of this segment returns and after a war of words with Corden hits him in the face. The good thing about this is that everything is prepared, do not worry. Shaggy and Sting close this show by asking:
Sting: “Who was the stupid idea?”
Shaggy: “It wasn’t me”
It wasn’t a great idea, but we know that they did everything necessary, what better publicity for this duo than singing in the New York subway?
Corden is admired by many, despite the mixed reviews he receives constantly.More than one viewer asked if they could return the host “back to England“. A bit harsh, but do not lose hope.
