Starring Emma Watson, the first trailer of “The Circle” has been released. The movie will be premiered on April 28th, and it’s an adaptation of Dave Eggers’ 2013 best-selling sci-fi novel which has the same name. This thriller is all about social media dystopia, and it’ll make you think twice before publishing anything.
Mae Holland, played by Emma, is a recent grad student who’s trying to figure out her life. She finds her dream job at the most influential tech company in the world, but suddenly everything feels wrong.
“The Circle” is the world’s most powerful internet company.
Holland tries their newest device, the SeeChange, a tiny glass camera that will fit anywhere and transmits real-time footage wirelessly, allowing the users to share thoughts and lives with the entire world. She becomes famous very fast, but then she needs to find the answers to some intriguing questions.
Mae is a young girl full of potential.
As mentioned before, she’s struggling to find her place in the world, and she’s lucky enough to get a job at “The Circle.”
The company is run by Eamon Bailey.
The inspiring CEO is played by Tom Hanks. He’s a visionary, like Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg. He’s all about transparency and sharing everything with the world, as James Ponsoldt said “He believes all experiences should be available to everyone, not only the privileged or people who can afford them. He’s deeply interested in technology that can make people share all human experiences with everyone. He’s a boundary pusher, even boundary destroyer.”
Bailey believes in the perfectibility of human beings.
At least that’s what he says, without secrets, we can solve problems of any kind.
Holland is introduced into a world of fame.
The whole environment of the company is such a nice place, is hard not to be amazed at all the and clubs and brunches, and the rest of the Campus facilities.
But being watched all of the time can be dangerous.
Imagine someone who knows your exact steps every minute of your life. That’s an uncontrollable weapon.
What happens with the things you hide.
This is not only about individual lives, we are talking about governments, political campaigns, murders. Are you scared enough now? This movie is a must watch
