The 2017 Grammys are taking shape but not in the way they used to, it’s seems like this year everybody decided to reveal themselves and get up to fight for what they believe and I’m not just talking about music but the current situation the country is living.
After knowing that the British host, James Corden, who both made us laugh and sing with his Carpool Karaokes will be in charge of encouraging the big night, now we have the list of nominees, but the real question is who is going to attend to the show.
The Big Question
This year the surprise was not who was nominated and who wasn’t, what is giving people something to talk about, is who will attend the event and who’s not. As is the case of Drake, Kanye West, Ocean And Justin Bieber who recently reported that they would skip the show.
But why skipping the show?
The Grammys are supposed to be music’s biggest night, but when the 2017 Grammy Awards roll out on Feb 12th , the ceremony may end up without a few of music’s biggest stars.
It was no surprise that Beyonce and Jay Z were in the front row for countless close-ups during the show at L.A.’s Staples Center, what definitely shocked us was the news that there will be no seats at all for Justin Bieber and Kayne West. Although it’s unknown what this pair will do instead of attending the show, it’s confirmed that Drake will be performing in Europe, on his Boy Meets World Tour in Manchester, England.
How did this happened?
It started when Ocean, who many think had the best album of the year, didn’t even bother submitting it for the Grammy’s consideration. His absence from the upcoming show has been known as a a protest of the Recording Academy failing to award young, black artists.
TMZ reports the artists no longer find the Grammys relevant to younger stars and according to the site, Bieber believes the Grammys don’t do a good job at representing younger singers.
