We all know that coming up with the perfect Halloween costume is anything but an easy task. Immediately the day after Labor Day you set your mind to finding the best and most original costume ever seen.
So these are the 13 stages that every person goes through this time of the year.
1. First and most important of all, your costume NEEDS to be original.
Because, on a regular basis, you don’t want to show up wearing the same as everyone else. So why would Halloween be any different?
2. Pinterest.
Scrolling through your Pinterest timeline for hours. Because for what other reason does the site exists?
3. Discovering the perfect BFF/couple costume idea is the most satisfying feelings.
Am I right? It’s like the actual definition of #goals.
4. Selling the idea to your costume comrade.
Whether your partner loved it or not, as much as you do, he/she is in. IT’S ON B*TCHES!
5. Getting Real: Finances.
Until this point you’ve set your creativeness free without any sort of limit, but that moment has passed now. It’s time to get real and see how much you can actually spend.
6. Gathering the will and money to actually buy it.
It’s time to hit the nearest arts and craft store. Shopping time!
7. Game On.
Collect dripping blood, sweat and tears into a cylinder vase to keep them from trickling down onto your masterpiece.
8. What event are you attending?
It’s time to focus on which party are you going to wow-their-ass-off.
9. At last minute your Halloween partner bails.
Apparently, he/she needs to attend their grandmother’s fish funeral (because yeah, that’s an actual thing these days.) ARE YOU F*@KING SERIOUS?
10. Wine is cheaper than therapy.
Somehow you need to get over the fact that all the effort you’ve put into this MAJOR project is totally going down the drain.
11. Self-discovery.
You wake up with your mascara all over your face, and then it hits you. A rock groupie! That’s what’ll go for.
12. You don’t let your head down because your crown would fall.
You pick yourself up, dust yourself off and keep on going. You will shine on with whatever you end up wearing.
13. Winning, and it feels so good.
Despite all the ups and downs you are out there, and you are having a blast; the time of your life. “What was I wearing again?”
