Watch What Happens When A Social Experiment Is Done On Halloween

Would you be able to shut the door to a kid begging for help?

Well, that’s what UK charity Retrak, a charity organization that looks to end child homelessness, tried to find out the past October 31. Using Halloween as the set to present people a social experiment. They filmed and documented how people reacted to a homeless child knocking at their doorss wanting help instead of trick or treating.

For this they used nine-year-old actress Jessica Bray who knocked on people’s’ doors in a neighborhood in north London, to see what would happen if people were faced with this situation.

Some people didn’t responded in a good way. They shut their doors in her face, told her to knock somewhere else and even threat to call the police.

Despite the threats and negative responds, some of the neighbors were kind and caring. They asked Jessica with what they could help her, what she needed, where she was going or if she was lost. Some people had such a big heart that they even invited her to come in.

A spokesperson of Shape History, the creative agency in charge of this project, declared that: “We didn’t expect such negative reactions from some people towards such a young ‘helpless’ child, but of course we we’re uplifted by others,”

It’s no surprise the video has gone viral and has made us reflect about this horrible situation. Millions of people around the world live through and what we would do if someone knocks out of our door.
