Three thugs who attacked and beat up rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine last week have been arrested. The men who jumped the artiste at a LA Fitness Gym sauna were charged with robbery and battery. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office gave their names as Rafael Medina, Jr., 43; Octavious Medina, 23; and Anthony Maldonado, 25.
6ix9ine – real name Daniel Hernandez – was at the sauna when three or four people approached him and then pounced on him. He tried to fight back but was overpowered. But when the fight attracted employees to the place, the attackers left the rapper and fled.
The rapper’s lawyer, Lance Lazzaro, said the performer was “attacked in a Sauna at a gym by three or four thugs who beat him up (he tried fighting back). He had cuts to his face and bruises. Employees heard the disturbance and the perpetrators fled.”
Video footage showed the musician with a bloodied face before he was transported to the hospital. The police said he was treated and discharged from the hospital without any life-threatening injuries.
Jail records showed that Rafael and Anthony were charged with felony battery and robbery. But no charges were available for Octavius yet. It is not clear as of press time if any of the suspects had legal representatives. They are still in custody at the Palm Beach County Jail.
6ix9ine was 2019 arrested and charged with racketeering, drug trafficking, and firearms offenses. He pleaded guilty to all charges and faced 47 years in prison, but he was handed a reduced sentence after his cooperation helped the authorities to arrest and convict two notorious gang leaders.
