The Fate of the Furious is about to break global office records in its opening weekend. The eight installment of the Fast and Furious franchise knows no limit and is taking the records.

The movie is set to top previous record holders Star Wars, Jurassic Wolrd, and Harry Potter with an estimated of $534.2 million in box office in its launch weekend.

There’s a new record holder

2017 seems like the year of major releases with huge titles like Logan, The LEGO Batman Movie, and The Beauty and the Beast.Now The Fast and Furious franchise is set to deliver a huge title that’s set to break some records. The eight installment of the franchise, The Fate of The Furious, is set to have a $534 million debut.

If that’s so, the movie would put The Fate of the Furious on top of the $520 million Star Wars: The Force Awakens scored in 2015, the $524 million Jurassic  World’s fathered in 2016 and also the $483 million Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 gathered in 2010.

Domestic and international records

The studio’s estimated gross domestically is of $103 million, and a total of $430 million internationally. And according to the studio, they’re right on track. On Friday the total international gross was that $194 million.

The weekend estimated of $430 million will take down Jurassic World’s record of $316 million in its launch weekend.

Much of the movie’s box office success comes from the international market. China is actually leading the way with a box office of $65 million on opening day. The movie is having the biggest three-day opening day in China.

In other 15 territories, the movie is having its biggest opening day including, Argentina, Colombia, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Israel, Lebanon, Malaysia, Middle East, Pakistan, Peru, Portugal, South Africa, U.A.E., and Venezuela.

The Fate of the Furious

The eight installment of The Fast and Furious franchise is the first film that doesn’t star Paul Walker, who died tragically in a car crash during the production of Furious 7.

However, the film gathers a star cast like never before, including this time Scott Eastwood, Nathalie Emmanuel, Kurt Russell and Charlize Theron, to the usual family.

This time the family, that found itself quietly living and enjoying life, gathered once again to face an unexpected challenge. There are betrayal and chaos.
