Lucasfilm’s movies have always been iconic. Especially Star Wars and Indiana Jones, who have been the most successful releases of the studio, yet. Now, new upcoming movies and their release dates have been published. Giving us an “Indiana Jones 5” and a “Star Wars: episode IX”. Since it seems that Lucasfilm, and Disney, aren’t resting on their crowns.
Obviously, the news of upcoming Star Wars and Indiana Jones’ films are always exciting. But it seems that it caught many by surprise. Particularly due to the buzz and publicity that the upcoming Star Wars’ episode VIII movie has had. As it will premiere on this year’s December.
The new dates For Star Wars Episode IX
Many of us couldn’t wait for the next movie of ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi.’ Not only due to the massive exposure and branding it got during the Star Wars 40-years anniversary convention. But also due to the fact that it will develop the plot in any possible way, besides answering many questions about characters. So if any of us had already digest it, the guys from Lucasfilm have given us another beefy cut of their plans. Obviously, we knew episode IX was coming, but not so soon. As it will be released on May 24th of 2019, and it will be directed by Colin Trevorrow. Breaking their usual December release cycle. Clearly, the movie will close out the third Star Wars trilogy.
For the next Indiana Jones, it will premiere on July 10th of 2020. Taking a year more than expected as Alan Horn, chairman of Walt Disney Studios, previously said that they would “bring him[Jones] back to the screen in 2019”. Steven Spielberg will be directing the film, while Harrison Ford will be returning to one of his most famous roles. The script of the movie will be created by David Koepp, who co-wrote the last film of the saga.
Here are some more release dates for amazing movies
Also, since Disney has bought everything that it’s amazing they took the chance to sneak other releases. Since we “Frozen 2” will also be released on 2019. Along with a live-action version of Mulan, the very awaited “The Incredibles 2,” “A Wrinkle in Time” and “Magic Camp”.
Probably one of the coolest aspects of 2019 will be to watch which saga has a bigger and stronger fanbase, due to the fact that the ninth chapter of Star Wars will be released the same month as the currently-untitled fourth Avengers film. That probably will tie any left knot on Avengers: Infinity Wars. Another movie who has been pushed back until 2020 is “Gigantic” wich is one of Disney’s top proposals as they hope it will be that year’s Christmas hit. Along with some upcoming and untitled Marvel films that will also be ready for 2020.
