Every day we’re closer to saying goodbye to dearest POTUS and FLOTUS.

January 20 marks the day when we will say goodbye to one the coolest, inspirational and most beloved presidential family. But before that, the Obamas were determined to say goodbye in a cool way. One that only they could only master the coolest and greatest party.

The Obamas made the greatest and hugest farewell in a private party on Friday night. It was filled with stars and personalities celebrating eight years of awesomeness. And it was awesome.

Michelle’s final speech.

Earlier that day The First Lady delivered her final speech. The moment was full of emotions while she honored counselors from across the country in the 2017 School Counselor of The Year. While reflecting on her eight years in the White House she sent a beautiful message of empowerment through education.

Right in the feelings.

The 21-minute speech was a remarkable finale to a great and inspirational first lady.  It had pretty emotional moments when the first lady talked about being the first generation to attend college; when she went over the challenges in the first lady’s role; and when she talked about how beautiful the American diversity truly is.

Empowerment through education.

Knowing the country had a tough couple of years to come, Michelle decided to honor education and give a message of hope to people. She focused on young people encouraging them to be brave and never fear. Take a time to listen to her beautiful words.

“I want our young people to know that they matter, that they belong. So don’t be afraid—you hear me, young people? Don’t be afraid. Be focused, determined, hopeful. Be empowered.”

“Empower yourselves with a good education, then get out there and use that education to build a country worthy of your boundless promise. Lead by example with hope, never fear.”
