For a lot of people the beginning of a new year brings a long line of “New Year, new me”, but for a few of us, the new year means new games! Excited for a new year of games? We definitely are. This list has a few games that we’re really excited for that actually have, at this point, a 2021 release window attached to them. Here are all the most exciting new games coming out in 2021 on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC

A brand new shooter IP from People Can Fly, and published by Square Enix. You play as a member of humanity who has had to flee Earth and landed on a planet called Enoch. A storm called The Anomaly forces you back into cryostasis. When humanity awakens, they all find themselves imbued with ridiculous powers.
Returnal

The first major PS5 exclusive of the year is also a return to the genre that it made a name for itself, Housemarque blends its arcade-style into a story-driven, third-person adventure. In Returnal you play as Selene, an astronaut stuck in a Happy Death Day-like cycle, endlessly attempting to fight her way out of a recurring death cycle.
Evil Dead: The Game
Release date: *2021
Available on: PC, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch
Also included on Gramno’s list for most anticipated games of the year, The Evil Dead film franchise is considered an all-time favorite horror classic Looking far more promising than its predecessors Evil Dead: The Game sees Ash and friends taking on hoards of Deadites and includes the iconic cabin in the woods. The Gameplay appears to be similar to Saber’s previous World War Z. We are hoping this has better reception.
Resident Evil 8: Village
Release date: May 7, 2021
Available on: PS5, Xbox Series X, PC
Resident Evil Village takes place a few years after the events of the previous game. Ethan returns to find himself in a new kind of trouble in a mysterious village as he searches for answers. We see familiar face Chris Redfield make an appearance, but is he a friend or an enemy? And a big werewolf-looking creature!? The trailer leaves us with plenty of questions drooling with anticipation.
Deathloop
Release date: May 21, 2021
Available on: PS5, PC
Another time loop game, but this time you’re two assassins who end up killing each other every day. In development at Arkane Lyon, this game takes place in the mysterious Black Reef. It is clear that the two assassins have very different ideas of their current situation, in what is described as a “time of madness”. Cole hopes to break free of their never-ending cycle while Juliana strives to protect it, but the guarantee is that they always kill one another.
We are so excited for these games, but these are only the tip of the iceberg compared to what 2021 has in store for gamers.
