Milo Moire About Sexual Consent: She Gives Access To Her Private Parts

Milo Moire is a Swiss artist focused on bringing attention to the problem of sexual violence against women where 1 in 3 women globally, experiences physical or sexual assault. She is well known for her nude performances, such as PlopEgg in 2014 where she used her vagina to expulse paint filled eggs into a canvas.

She performed “Mirror Box” in Düsseldorf, London, and Amsterdam this year. She allowed strangers to touch her genitals for 30 seconds with her consent.

“Even a dog can learn to leave a sausage on the plate, so a man can too,” she said.

“I would rather allow hundreds of people to grope me than have one person touch me against my will.”

She also said that 100 people touched her during her performance.

Using a breast cinema box and a vagina cinema box, she said it was important for her to create a picture for societal reflection.

While they could touch her for 30 seconds, the rule was that they had to look her in the eyes while doing so and talked about how it felt.

“This mirror box is a symbol of freedom.” She was arrested by London police for offering strangers to touch her genitals.

“Women have a sexuality, just like men have one. However, women decide for themselves when and how they want to be touched, and when they don’t.”
