The superhero universe is pretty big. You have on one side Marvel with all its universes and on the other hand, you have DC. Both with an amazing and extensive roster of kick-ass heroes, villains, and stories. As well for many of us, superheroes were our idols as we grow up feeling our spare time with action and incredible storylines.
That is the reason why there are so many superhero movies lately. Besides the fact that they’re pretty cool. They are also necessary. Since a blend between the Hollywood and the superhero industry is a win for everybody.
Suicide Squad.
As the superheroes and their stories are pretty cool. Their enemies are equally amazing. As you have some of the evilest beings ever created, along with an epic character design and backstory. With looking at some of the fan favorites like The Joker, Harley Quinn, Lex Luthor or Venom is more than enough.
There is were Suicide Squad comes in. As a movie to tribute the bad guys from the superhero universe. But the movie wasn’t what many fans expected. Since all the hype and expectation the movie had it got very mixed reviews. Being most of them bad. Despite an epic casting, marketing, and soundtrack.
Suicide Squad 2.
Even though the movie wasn’t what everyone hopes for it still collect up to $745 million worldwide. So it might not be a total failure. That is what Warner Bros thinks at least, as they’re planning a sequel to the movie.
The production house has asked Mel Gibson to direct the sequel. Since his career has revived after being nominated for the Oscars for his war film “Hacksaw Ridge.” Both sides find themselves in the initial talking stages.
New director.
Even though Gibson has had a turn in his career and is close and known by Warner the guys from the production house aren’t just sitting and waiting while Gibson makes his mind. While the actor-director is supposedly familiarizing with the material Warner is also looking for other possible directors. Like Daniel Espinosa being one of their favorite candidates if Gibson declines.
All of this after director David Ayer expressed his skepticism about some elements of the film. Even though he stayed with DC. Since his latest project is Gotham City Sirens. Reuniting him with Margot Robbie and concentrates on DC’s female villains.
