The Mannequin Challenge took over space

In a year full of challenges taking over everywhere, we saw almost everybody doing them. It was like people couldn’t resist to its virality and needed to do it. Just when we thought it was over, the Mannequin Challenge reached space.

Well, the International Space Station at least. Right on time, just before the year ends and the challenges become a thing of the past. But either way, we can now officially say that everybody did the Mannequin Challenge, and that includes astronauts.

2016: The year of viral Challenges, and other things.

So, this year might be remembered as a tough one, but it will also be remembered as the one in which challenges took over the place. Challenges got literally everybody from classrooms to Presidential candidates performing them. But the Mannequin Challenge went mainstream.

Let’s just stand still.

In case you’ve been living in a cave, let me tell you what’s all about. The challenge consisted of getting a group of people standing still, while a camera plans all over the place and got them in the most mannequin-ish pose. It also had the song “Black Beatles” by Rae Sremmurd playing at the back.

And just when we thought it was made by everybody.

Soccer players.

Adorable babies.

Celebrities.

The Challenge reached whole new heights.

Astronauts on the International Space Station now did it! The video was tweeted by Thomas Pesquet, an astronaut that’s in for a six-month mission. He and the other 5 crew members did the viral challenge in space.

But is better with the music.

And with that, it finally ends.
