Outer space is the most amazing mystery that we know about. We all want to know if there’s life beyond our system and if there is, we want them to know we exist. Would you imagine finding out we are not the only living creatures in the world?
NASA has been trying to end the mystery since forever, and they’ve done everything that’s possible, that’s why they created and released the Golden Record.
Want to know a little more about it? We are here to help.
In 1977, NASA launched two spacecraft called Vogayer 1 and two so that they could reach and explore the outer reaches of the Cosmo.
#1 left our solar system some time ago, and #2 is very close to doing so itself.
Both spacecraft carry a gold-plated phonograph that tells our planet’s history. It’s all described in audios and images.
This 12-inch phonograph is called the Golden Record.
The goal was to reach out-space lives so that they would know about our human existence.
Both of them have detailed instructions on how to play the record, in case they are found.
Those two copies are the only existing ones. Not even Carl Sagan has one.
