Liam Neeson as Santa seems like a bad idea, at least for what we see in the audition’s video.
The actor taking the toughest role of all: Santa Claus. Neeson has played Zeus, international agent, gangster, Jedi, but never Santa. This role is really different to the roles were use to seeing him. But, maybe he’s feeling jolly and wants to go with the season. After all, is never too late to try, right?
Liam’s audition to play a mall Santa was aired on Friday’s night episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. The actor was part of the funniest sketch ever when he auditioned for Santa and the audition went wrong. Like really wrong. Maybe he simply doesn’t have the Santa skills.
Scariest Santa Ever.
The actor was part of a sketch in which he auditioned to play a mall’s Santa on Friday’s episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Wearing the usual old Nick’s clothes, the actor delivers the funniest and yet scariest impersonation of Santa. He also makes reference to previous roles he’s been into. And the result is cracking funny.
Liam Neeson as Santa?
As soon as you see this, you know you’re in for a treat. Neeson’s acting abilities are not questionable but it’s hard to get his image as a hardcore agent, or Zeus himself. As the audition begins and he starts saying “I see you when you’re sleeping. I know when you’re awake” in the scariest voice ever you immediately remember his movie “Taken,” and you think damn this Santa would have the greatest searching skills.
A bit more jolly?
Neeson then tries to add some of the Christmas sparks and tries smiling. The result is the weirdest smile and an even more threatening version of Santa’s famous words. Dude, if Neeson knows when you’re awake you better not be naughty, he’s checking the list twice.
Pray for not being on the naughty list.
Not the naughty ones.
This guy is the toughest ever. After discussing with the audition director he’s character, Neeson threatens with killing the deer who ran over grandma. As if it wasn’t scary enough Neeson then says with a lot of emphases that Santa is not bringing joy nor gifts to the naughty ones.
Release The Kringle.
As he sees the audition going worst and worst, Liam decides to try something new. Dramatically he turns over, and then says “Release the Kringle.” This is how you turn one of the greatest movie lines and turn it into a Christmas pun. What a way to saying that Santa’s coming, Liam!
In case you don’t know which movie line I’m talking about!
