Lady Gaga’s two French bulldogs were stolen on Wednesday night after an assailant shot and wounded his dog walker. To facilitate the recovery of her two dogs, the singer is offering $500,000 to have the thief return her dogs – no questions asked. She even used Koji and Gustav, the names of the missing dogs, to create new email at which the thief could contact her to claim the reward: KojiandGustav@gmail.com
According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), Gaga’s dog walker was walking the dogs around 10 pm when he was shot with a semi-automatic handgun and the dogs stolen. The shooter was said to have fled in a white sedan. The injured dog walker was taken to the hospital where he is recovering steadily.
“Last night at around 9:40 pm, a shooting took place in the 1500 block of North Sierra Bonita Avenue,” said LAPD’s public information officer Jeff Lee. “The male unknown suspect fired a gunshot from an unknown location, striking the 30-year-old male white victim. The suspect was last observed in a white vehicle northbound of Sierra Bonita Avenue towards Hollywood Boulevard. No arrest has been made yet.”
Lady Gaga’s father, Joe Germanotta, said he is very unhappy about the incident and expressed dismay that someone would shot another man fatally to steal his dogs. He urged the police department and members of the public to help with arresting the assailant and recovering the dogs.
“Our whole family is upset and praying Koji and Gustavo are not harmed,” Germanotta stated. “Shooting someone in order to steal dogs is wrong.”
Given that the suspect attacked the victim with a semi-automatic gun, the police said they will be handling the incident as an “assault with a deadly weapon”. The police would not give identifying details about the dog walker, but Germanotta said he is a family friend who did not deserve what happened to him.
