Jimmy Kimmel Tweeted To President Donald Trump Live During The Oscars

Dark Humor + Oscars = Funniest Jokes Ever

Last night the 89th Academy Awards ceremony or as they’re most commonly known the Oscars took place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, LA. To honor the best movies, actors, and directors of the year, along with everything related to the movie industry.

This year ceremony was pretty awesome. But as all the awards of this year, it had a political tone. As the host of the night Jimmy Kimmel, who is known for his dark humor, made jokes about the current political situation in the U.S.

Throwing shade at the president.

As one of the functions of artists is to expose what’s going on in society, and what’s wrong. Jimmy Kimmel used the Oscars as a platform to talk about this current ugly truth that the US nation has been living since Trump took charge of the country.

Characterized by his bold and dark humor Kimmel throw some hardcore shade at the president of the U.S. and his discriminatory political actions. But he did it in a subtle way throughout the ceremony.

Direct message on Twitter.

As Kimmel did his bold jokes and statements he decided to take it to the next level, in a modern way. Imitating a bit of what Ellen Degeneres did a few years ago. He decided to tweet Donald Trump’s official account. Since POTUS is a very active user of the social network.

The first tweet that Kimmel sent said: “Hey @realDonaldTrump u up?” to what the crowd started laughing. All of this was done while the show was streamed on national and worldwide TV. All of it from his official Twitter account.

Meryl says hi.

Then to make the tweets a bit more controversial, Kimmel decided to tweet next: “@realDonaldTrump #Merylsayshi.” Adding a bit of fire to the controversy to the Twitter jokes. Since not long ago Donald Trump ranted against the actress after she gave a speech out about the president at the Golden Globe Awards.

Even though Streep never mentions Trump directly at that speech it was pretty clear that she was referring to him.Trump in rage replied via Twitter: “Meryl Streep, one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood, doesn’t know me but attacked last night at the Golden Globes. She is a Hillary flunky who lost big. For the 100th time, I never ‘mocked’ a disabled reporter.” So we can say that Kimmel tweets did their job perfectly, of being funny, polemic and ironic.
