Jason Bateman Is Ready For A 5th Season Of Our Beloved Arrested Development

All The Characters Are On Board

Arrested Development was one of the coolest series around. As the show has won several awards, including Emmys and Golden Globes for their actors and concept. For this reason is why Netflix revived it on 2013, releasing its fourth season that also got some nominations. Now, after four years, the fifth season is on its way. This according to its own protagonists.

The 15-episode Netflix season was well received in 2013. Sadly due to the cast’s other projects, the continuity of the series was very difficult to ensure. But despite the challenge to keep the show going on has always been on the mind of the cast and of producers. Making every fan of the show very happy to hear about an upcoming fifth season. Let’s just hope there isn’t a years gap between this season and a next one.

The Bluths are back

Besides being one of Fox’s most acclaimed and awarded series the plot was one of the best. Having certain family situations many of us can relate to, except the incest and the corruption hopefully. The show follows the life of the members of the Bluth family. A formerly wealthy family who continues to have their extravagant lifestyles despite things have change for them. Putting the spotlight on Michael Bluth (Jason Bateman) who has to take charge of his family affairs after his father, the patriarch of the family, is imprisoned. Since he is a corrupt real estate developer. We see the struggle of Michael to keep his family together and on the right path since he is a straight man with high values. Despite all the other members being selfish, manipulative and materialists.

All the excitement about the newest season, despite many of the actors and producers, said that wanted to keep the show going comes directly from its protagonist Jason Bateman. Since he posted on his Twitter a statement confirming the fifth season. As the tweet said “Look very probably I’m going to put some miles on the Stair Car this summer. Just officially signed on to more Arrested Development today”.

The fifth season is on the way, even though we don’t have a date yet

The fact that all actors had so much schedule complications led to only one season. Giving as well, too many fans, a bit of an odd feeling between the interaction of the characters. Since probably it played a huge factor in the different one family member storyline used in the fourth season. Nevertheless, the fifth season is coming and it’s something that has been said since last year. Since Jessica Walter, who plays the drunken and manipulative matriarch Lucille, said that the whole cast could reunite to deliver another season. As she stated: “It’s looking real good. I don’t have dates, but everybody is on board.” Also in January, the show’s executive producers, Brian Grazer, stated that the cast had officially had got aboard for the fifth season.

As he exposed that a better and more fluid dynamic was ensured for this time. “We are close. I think we found a way to create the compensation structure for all the actors and create a working matrix so they can still make movies and do other things and it will all integrate. So we are really close – I think within a couple of weeks at the most”.

Where will the show go?

The show counted with an amazing cast. Including the likes of Will Arnett, Jeffrey Tambor, Jessica Walter, Michael Cera, Portia de Rossi, Tony Hale, David Cross, and Alia Shawkat. That it seems that we will be watching again in their original roles for the newest fifth season. Since in the last episode of season 4 the youngest son of the family was arrested for murder. Last year, the series creator Mitch Hurwitz said the next installment would revolve around a serialized murder. But we don’t know if this has changed or not.

Alos, and thanks to Bateman’s tweet we know that the show will be filmed during summer. Something very positive as it’s when most movies and shows are on a break, making the production of the new “Arrested Development” season easier. Since everyone should be available in theory. Still, everything is uncertain, due to the shooting hasn’t started. We, obviously, don’t know a release date, which would be the episode dynamic (the more blended one of the first three seasons or the most singular one of season 4), if there will be the flashbacks or even if the new season will have 17 episodes, as Grazer said on 2015.

Despite all of that we are still stoked to see that a new season of “Arrested Development”. Since it wasn’t only one of the most beloved comedies recently. It also skyrocketed the cast’s careers. Having an extra special feeling for both, the fans and the actors who played the Bluths.
