Ed Sheeran Will Be A Guest Star In Game of Thrones' New Season

On Sunday, Game Of Thrones showrunners and the stars Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner revealed some interesting news and facts about the series. While being moderators during the South by Southwest fest in Austin, Texas,

David Benioff and D.B. Weiss announced the British singer and songwriter Ed Sheeran, was set to make a guest appearance on season 7 of the critically-acclaimed HBO show. They also talked about how bad they wanted Sheeran to make and appearance before but they couldn’t arrange it until now.

The 2017 SXSW Festival started last Friday, in Game of Thrones panel, David Benioff spoke about how they have been trying to get Ed Sheeran on the show and this year they finally did it. The main reason of Sheeran’s appearance was to surprise one of the stars one the series, Maisie Williams who plays Arya Stark because she is a fan of the “Castle On The Hill” scribe.

HBO finally announced on Facebook that Game of Thrones is set to return for its highly anticipated seventh season on July 16. The new teaser video didn’t have any fresh footage from the upcoming season, but it does have a snippet of new dialogue from Jon Snow: “There is only one war that matters. The Great War. And it is here.”

During the Sunday afternoon session at the annual fest in Austin, Texas the showrunners revealed some news about the new season. It was confirmed that the final season will indeed consist of just six episodes and the participation of Ed Sheeran.
