Despite Widespread Boycott of Bud Light Beer, Garth Brooks Says His Bar Will Serve It

While conservatives around the country continue to boycott Bud Light beer because of its recent affinity with transgender social media influencer Dylan Mulvaney, country music superstar Garth Brooks said his new bar will serve all brands of beer to customers without discriminating against anyone on the basis of race, sexual orientation, or lifestyle preferences.

“I want it to be a place you feel safe in, I want it to be a place where you feel like there are manners and people like one another,” Brooks had said. “And yes, we’re going to serve every brand of beer. We just are. It’s not our decision to make. Our thing is this: If you [are let] into this house, love one another. If you’re an asshole, there are plenty of other places on lower Broadway.”

Brooks’ new bar is still being built in downtown Nashville and it is to be called Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky Tonk. Another country music star, John Rich, the owner of Redneck Riviera bar in Lower Broadway, Nashville, said he was not sure that Brooks will draw customers to his bar if he stocked Bud Light beer.

“If Garth is serving Bud Light in his bar, that’s fine,” Rich stated on Friday. “Garth can do that. Garth might find out not many people are going to order it,” he explained. “And at the end of the day, you have to put things in your establishment that people are going to purchase if you’re going to run a successful business. So, he might find that out.”

Rich said Brooks makes music for everybody just the way beer companies make beer for everybody. He said the latter’s promise to stock the embattled Bud Light is borne out of his desire to unite the entire country using any means possible. But he said Brooks might soon find out that the music business is very different from the food and drink business.

“I think he probably sees the pain and division that’s going on in the country and wants to try to help that,” Rich revealed. “If I know Garth at all, and I know him a little, that’s probably the impetus behind a statement like that. So, good for him. I wish him the best.”

Rich said his Redneck Riviera, just like Kid Rock’s bar, will not stock Bud Light because people would not order for the beer brand.

“The customers aren’t going to order it,” he said. “I’m not going to stock it. We’ve only got a limited area. I’ve got a limited bar. It’s like…I’ve got to put beer and whiskey and vodkas up here that people want to purchase and they want to support…And brother, I can tell you right now, it’s a vicious attitude toward Bud Light.”
