Cheetos Teams Up With Anne Burrell For A New York Pop-Up Restaurant

It’ll Only Be For Three Days

On Tuesday, Frito-Lay is teaming up with chef Anne Burrell to bring a Cheetos restaurant to New York. “The Spotted Cheetah” will pop-up in Tribeca next week, running from August 15 through August 17.

The pop-up restaurant comes as the last move for Cheetos, who has teamed up with chain restaurants to leverage the brand in the last year.

“Dangerously cheesy” restaurant taking NYC

On Tuesday Ryan Matiyow, senior director for Frito-Lay, announced the cheesy news.

“Once again, our fans have inspired us with their creativity and playfulness.¨

“We’ve seen their love for Cheetos exhibited through innovative dishes, desserts, and beverages. It motivated us to create a restaurant that would bring a full Cheetos culinary experience to life,” he added.

“The Spotted Cheetah is a fun and delicious way for Cheetos to celebrate a variety of favorite flavors. In an upscale and playful culinary setting that will wow our guests.”

The restaurant’s menu was developed by Food Network star, chef Anne Burrell.

The menu will bring familiar food items to a Cheetos dust finish. Including,  Cheetos Crusted Fried Pickles with Creamy Ranch, Flamin’ Hot Limón Chicken Tacos, Cheetos Meatballs and Cheetos Sweetos Crusted Cheesecake.

Chef Burrell expressed her excitement for cultivating unique recipes centering around the popular cheese-flavored chip in a press release.

“As a long-time Cheetos fan, I’m thrilled to join forces with a snack brand. It’s truly an iconic American staple. I had so much fun curating this specially crafted, one-of-a-kind menu for the first Cheetos restaurant – I can’t wait to see guests’ reactions!”

The only Cheetos restaurant is the cherry on top for a list of collaborations in the last year.

Several fast food chain restaurants have recently partnered to leverage the Cheetos brand, including Burger King, Taco Bell, and Taco John.

Pop-Tarts coming right away

This is not the first time a major food brand has opened a brick-and-mortar restaurant.

Pop-Tarts opened a pop-up shop in February and PepsiCo opened a bar and restaurant called Kola House in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District last year.

Some of the menu items included a personal Pop-Tart pizza, chili Pop-Tart fries, and tarty tacos and burritos. With a marketing executive with the food company calling Pop-Tarts an “exciting dining experience.”

Visitors to the Times Square restaurant could also sample milkshakes, cheesecake and other confections made from the pastry.
