This Are The Challenges That Took Over 2016 And The Internet

Teenagers Rule The Internet

This year was tough but at least it gave us the certainty that our future’s in good hands, in our teenagers’ hands. Yes, this year teenagers exceeded themselves and showed us their awesomeness and their true voices.

Teenagers dealt with this year craziness in the funniest ways, coming together with viral hashtags and crazy antics. Viral challenges were all over the place and were frequent all year long, and gave us the opportunity to laugh endlessly.

10. #WaterBottleChallenge.

Flipping a water bottle was a huge thing, viral thing. The attraction wasn’t that much flipping the bottle but the many funny contexts of the flips.

9. #TrapCover.

This one came as a response to acoustic covers of Beyonce and Rihanna major hits. The perfect mix of humor, and protest. It consisted of turning pop songs into trap bangers.

8. #100LayerChallenge.

This basically consisted of putting 100 layers of anything on. It was quite scary sometimes, like this Youtuber Jenna Marbles that put 100 layers of mascara, foundation, lipstick. But it turned out to be extremely funny.

7. #TrustFallChallenge.

This was really about renewing faith in humanity. In this challenge, people would choose a person, stranger mostly, and fall backward expecting for the person to catch them before hitting the ground.

6. #SoGoneChallenge.

The mastermind behind this challenge was Chance The Rapper. Having Monica’s “So Gone” instrumental, people would freestyle about whatever they feel passionate about. The result, some pretty dope lyrics and also funny.

5. #MannequinChallenge.

This one was huge and got even celebs doing it. Everybody did it, even social events, concerts and the most unexpected situations. People would stand still while a camera plans around them to the beat of Rae Sremmurd ft Gucci’s  “Black Beatles.”

4. #AndysComing.

This one is simply epic and shows that teenagers have plenty imagination. Inspired by Toy Story, participants would drop to the floor and lay like a toy after someone yelled the words “Andy’s coming.”

3. #TrumpsComingChallenge.

Now, this one shows exactly how we all feel about the election’s results. Is definitely a twist from the original #AndysComing. After yelling “Trump’s coming” people would start running like herds of zebras from a group of lions. We’re glad our kids get to express the inner panic we feel.

2. #BackpackChallenge.

Even when this year was crazy AF, and almost didn’t make sense, this challenge is even more senseless. One person would run between two rows of participants that throw their backpacks at the runner. Scary.

Wtf?

1. #XmasIsLitChallenge.

Since we’re in the season, let’s spread some weird holiday joy. This one is hilarious and made our Christmas even more joyful. Dancing to Mr. Hotspot “My Friends” people would follow a choreography that is just too funny to watch. Please enjoy.
