Aphex Twin Teases Fans Via Twitter With A Mysterious New Project

Fans Have Long Awaited Signals Of A New Production

The British producer and musician Aphex Twin is releasing new music, well sort of. But he is up to something and that is enough to get us excited. As he revealed through Twitter a teaser along with a link, that might be a hint that new music is coming. Something very exciting since he isn’t the kind of artists who regularly drops new material.

Even though the intriguing teaser to his tweet was accompanied with the caption “Soon”. Along with it was a heavily treated voice giving a sort of sermon about house music, that made the image change, reacting to the sound, ending up in the elusive producer’s logo.

The mysterious voice in the teaser

Even though the job of a teaser is to intrigue and generate expectation through mystery Aphex Twin did an extra good job. Since the voice featuring on it is really odd. But thanks to the dedication of people online we discovered what the disguised and distorted voice is saying. The processed voice comes from “My House,” a classic 1987 Chicago house single released by Rhythm Controll. On that single, Chuck Roberts delivers a sermon “In the beginning, there was house”.

The song has become an iconic part of house music. Along with the 30-seconds clip, there is the caption. That besides creating buzz and expectancy about it, comes with a link to a mysterious, password-protected site. In which a longer version of the distorted sermon plays in a loop. There is also the image, that changes along the voice, that shows along with the musicians personal logo, the NTS acronym, that belongs to the London-based online radio station.

New music on the radio

Maybe Aphex Twin will be working with the British radio to deliver his new music or simply working with them. As some of the speculation points out that he could be set to launch a house music show on NTS. Also, the British musician shared a single in April entitled “4xAtlantis take1”. Giving us a little of hope that new music is on the way.

Despite the speculation and the April released song, if Aphex Twin releases a new album this or next year it will be his third in a relatively short period of time. Since previously he used to have long gaps of time between one and other. Something that in he has been working on in the beginning of this decade, luckily for us. His last released a full-length album was in 2014 with “Syro” while in  2016 he released the EP “Cheetah”.
