The winning of this award was marked by the controversy after the fans said that Alessia is not a “new artist”. Now we can see it declaring about these criticisms and controversies.

Alessia born in Canada let us know everything she thought about it through a post on her personal Instagram account. Part of this she lets knows that she would not apologize for “winning something over which she had no control.”
“To address the apparent reaction against winning something over which I had no control. I did not log in to grammy.com and I submitted myself, that’s not how it works. I did not ask for it to be sent to me because there are other artists who deserve the recognition. But I was nominated and won and I will not be upset about something I’ve wanted since I was a child, not to mention that I worked very hard,” announced Cara.
The singer says that she claims that she wants to use her popularity as a means to expose the problem of inequality that the music industry is experiencing today. However, the singer has also expressed that she would not let the hard work she goes through be diminished by those who had been offended by her achievements.
