Pedro Almodóvar is a Spanish film director, who builds his movies toward a greater, more esoteric narrative. Almodovar incorporates art into his films by visually mimicking famous paintings and other pieces, specifically work by Edward Hopper, Piet Mondrian, Roy Lichtenstein, Jean Cocteau, and a host of Spanish artists.
